In keeping with changes in health care delivery and technological advances available in education, the Ellmer School of Nursing has developed this innovative online Concurrent Enrollment program. The Concurrent Enrollment program is an entry-level BSN program that allows students to complete their degree while remaining in their community.
The Concurrent Enrollment program blends ODU RN-BSN course work with the AAS curriculum. Each semester students will have a schedule that includes in-person AAS nursing courses at the affiliated institution and online RN-BSN courses through . For consideration for this program, students must apply separately to the nursing programs of the affiliated institutions.
Concurrent Enrollment students graduate from the AAS program first. Upon completion of all BSN courses and success on the NCLEX-RN, students earn their BSN from ODU. Proof of licensure as a registered nurse must be supplied to the School of Nursing prior to the student being awarded a BSN degree. Students will be able to complete the AAS-BSN course work in two years. All lower-division general education requirements must be completed and posted to students' transcripts prior to entrance into Concurrent Enrollment.
