Jem Baldisimo, an Ecological Sciences doctoral candidate at Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓƵ, has been selected as a 2025 Knauss Marine Policy Fellow.
Josh Wager is a third-year physics undergraduate student at Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓƵ. Originally, he’s from Omaha, Nebraska, and his family settled down in Virginia in 2018. He graduated from Western Branch High School in 2022 before starting his journey at ODU.
More than 500 students in grades K-12 along with their parents took part in the fourth annual Reign in Science Day at Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓƵ on Sat., Sept. 28.

ODU Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research on Wetland Plants
At Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓƵ undergraduate research is a pillar of our program in the College of Sciences. Meet Biological Sciences Assistant Professor Taylor Sloey and two ODU Biological Sciences undergraduate students Kylie Gieser and Kaitlyn Pounders who took part in wetlands research during the summer of 2024. Their work was part of the TREEBUD program which is designed to increase plant awareness and enhance training in the plant sciences for undergraduate students.
