Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine

Dental Radiation Safety

Stem Cells have the ability to regenerate many different types of tissues in normal development, and their dysregulation isÌýassociated with aging and cancer. Our faculty are studying their biology as it relates to development, aging, and cancer. We are also using them as tools to engineer tissues for Regenerative Medicine applications, with the goal of treating human injuries and degenerative diseases. New advances in re-programming to generate induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells) have enabled customized stem cell generation from nearly any source cell and dramatically expanded the opportunities and impact of work in this field.
