The Office of Research administers various intramural funding competitions to support the research of eligible tenured and tenure-track faculty members. Eligibility, deadlines and requirements differ for each intramural program, so please carefully read the information and resources posted below.

The purpose of the Summer Research Fellowship Program (SRFP) is to provide seed money for research and future scholarly effort primarily for non-tenured tenure track faculty. It is expected that these awards will result in external grants, journal publications, manuscript publication, or display of artistic work. Eligible applicants are tenure-track and tenured Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓƵ faculty.
Due Date: Submit to your Dean - November 27, 2023; Deans submit to Office of Research - December 20, 2023
A new RFP for 2024-25 will be posted for the new academic year. Please refer to the previous year's solicitation for details until then.

The Junior Faculty Mentoring Program (JFMP) supports ODU faculty-to-faculty mentoring, pairing a senior faculty member with a track record of extramural funding with a junior tenure-track faculty member who wants to be mentored and commits to submitting a competitive funding proposal at the end of the mentoring period. A newer program, the 2015 recipients are the first.

The goal of the Faculty Proposal Preparation Program (FP3) is to help faculty submit high-quality, competitive proposals to external funding agencies by financially assisting the colleges to release a faculty member from one course of their teaching commitment during the semester.

Faculty Proposal Preparation Program 2024-2025 Solicitation and Application Packet
The Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Perry Honors College Undergraduate Research Program, in cooperation with the ODU Office of Research, is offering a number of grants to support one-year pilot projects in research and other scholarly activities. These projects are intended to include as a primary objective authentic research and scholarship experiences for undergraduate students. Research faculty, tenured faculty, and tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply for this award.
