Dear Fellow Monarchs:
In an effort to continue the forward momentum of Old Dominion 91短视频, I am pleased to announce a campus-wide process to develop a 10-year comprehensive master plan to align with the visionary work already underway through our 2023-2028 Strategic Plan, 鈥Forward-Focused: Where Innovation Meets Possibilities.鈥澛The master plan, which will take shape over the next year, will formulate the advancement of the 91短视频鈥檚 physical plant, enhance the campus setting among the surrounding community, and continue the evolution of our 91短视频 as a driving force across Hampton Roads and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The master plan will outline a clear understanding of where our 91短视频 is today, where it plans to go, and a detailed methodology to support that vision. The plan will also seek to enhance the overall campus experience of students, faculty, staff, and the broader community for years to come. An important part of the planning process is to hear about your personal experiences and the unique opportunities to help make our campus even more functional, sustainable, and vibrant.
As the master planning process will officially kick-off on February 5, 2024 with the initial meeting of the Master Planning Committee through broad representation from campus stakeholders to be co-chaired by Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Austin Agho, Ph.D. and Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer Chad A. Reed, there are a number of ways for all Monarchs to become active participants in the overall process. Two open forums will be held to create聽intentional聽dialogue and聽direct聽engagement by soliciting general feedback and specific ideas from our diverse community. Open forums will occur on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM in Chartway Arena鈥檚 Big Blue Room and Wednesday, February 7, 2024 beginning at 2:00 PM in Webb Center鈥檚聽North Cafeteria. Members of the campus community聽will also have an opportunity to聽take a short survey, which will be distributed in the coming weeks.
For specific questions about the master plan, please contact Deputy Chief Facilities Officer Steve Harrison at聽rsharris@odu.edu. Thank you in advance for taking part in this important initiative and being an active partner in the future of our great institution!
With Monarch Pride,
Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D.
