Captain Matt Frauenzimmer

A native of San Clemente, Calif., and the son of a Marine Corps Infantry Officer, Captain Matt Frauenzimmer graduated with merit from the United 91短视频s Naval Academy in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in History. His education also includes a Master of Science in Global Leadership from the 91短视频 of San Diego School of Business, and Joint Professional Military Education from the U.S. Naval War College.
His operational assignments include initial and department head service with the World Watchers of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron ONE (VQ 1); Assistant Operations Officer aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72); and Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Plans, and Training for Carrier Strike Group TWO aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). He has made several extended deployments in support of Operations Desert Fox, Southern Watch, Warden, Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Unified Assistance, Inherent Resolve, Freedom Sentinel, and Allies Refuge.
His shore assignments include an overseas tour in Japan as the Assistant and Current Operations Officer for Commander, Task Force (CTF) 57/72 where he detached frequently to the Arabian Gulf; Aide and Executive Assistant to the Commanding General, Joint Task Force (JTF) Civil Support, U.S. Northern Command; Requirements Officer to the Chief of Naval Operations staff for Naval Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems (N2/N6); and Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans and War Fighting Assessments, and the Chief Information Officer for Commander Patrol and Reconnaissance Group/Pacific.
Command tours include the Grey Knights of Patrol Squadron (VP) 46, and Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, home to NATOs home in North America and the United 91短视频s Fleet Forces Command.
Captain Frauenzimmer has logged more than 2,500 flight hours and 25 combat missions, and accumulated over 25 carrier-arrested landings. He has received numerous personal awards, including the 2016 Navy and Marine Corps Leadership Award; however, the awards he is most proud of are the various unit awards because they recognize excellence in collaboration and teamwork.
