New Help Desk Coming to Perry Library
Construction on a new consolidated service point will begin in the Learning Commons @ Perry Library on August 7, and is expected to take 2-3 days. The second floor Circulation Desk is being combined with the first floor Learning Commons Help Desk in an effort to provide more services during more hours for students and faculty.
The new desk will be located in front of Room 1307, currently the Writing Center. As part of the redesign, the Writing Center is moving to a new location: Room 1208, the former Inter-Library Loan office. During construction, the Learning Commons will continue to provide services from a temporary desk set up near the current help desk. Learning Commons staff will be happy to check out books to patrons, as self-checkout will not be available on the 1st floor. In-library will still be available, and seven-day loan equipment (i.e. iPads, cameras, camcorders, etc.) will resume circulating when fall semester classes begin on August 26.
The 2nd floor Circulation Desk will remain open during construction. We will let you know when the new service desk is open and all services are combined. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
