Canvas

Canvas enhances the classroom experience by enabling collaboration, feedback, and access to documents, assignments and other materials.


Zoom

Need to host or attend a meeting from off-campus? Zoom is a cloud-based web conferencing service that allows users to meet and share content online. Start or join a meeting from anywhere with an internet connection.


Using Zoom in Canvas

With Zoom's Canvas integration, instructors can schedule, start and manage meetings directly from Canvas. Students can join meetings and access cloud recordings from within the course as well.


Access Course Collaboration Tools

When faculty use ODU's Course Collaboration Tool to set up Zoom meetings, Microsoft Teams or shared Google Drives for their courses, students enrolled in those courses can access the collaboration tools from within the portal or from within the course in Canvas.

Upload and Share Video

Need to share a video with your instructor as part of an assignment? Here are a couple of options:

  • YouTube: Sure, you could upload assignments to your personal YouTube account, but you also have access to Google Workspace聽apps (including YouTube) as a student at ODU.
  • Kaltura MediaSpace: This media sharing service (at ) is similar to YouTube, but features only ODU content. Everyone at ODU has a personal media channel for uploading and sharing content. Learn more about MediaSpace at ODU.
