About the Club
The mission of the Park, Recreation and Tourism Studies (PRTS) Majors Club is to provide student majors with a forum by which they can meet, socialize and enhance their overall knowledge of the profession. Opportunities are made available for club members to (1) interact with area professionals, (2) develop themselves as future professionals, (3) acquire internship and employment placements, and (4) provide input to faculty for improving the program.
Officers of the PRTS Majors Club are elected each academic year to serve a one year term. Monthly meetings are held in the Student Recreation Center. The PRTS Majors also adopted Norfthside Park in 2006. The Club cleans trash from the park four times per year. In 2012 the PRTS Majors Club was recognized with the Keep Norfolk Beautiful Environment Stewardship Award!
