Verma at ICNDME-2014 in India
Alok Verma, Ray Ferrari Professor and Chair of the department of engineering technology, traveled to India to deliver two keynote addresses at two manufacturing conferences.
He delivered the keynote address at the 5th International All India Manufacturing Technology, Design and Research Conference (AIMTDR) 2014 held at the Indian Institute of Technology in Guwahati, India. The conference was attended by more than 400 delegates from 12 countries. Verma's address discussed the intersection of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma - a comprehensive tool that can be used to increase organizational productivity and efficiency. In addition to delivering the keynote address at AIMTDR, Verma chaired one of the sessions and presented a paper.
At another large-scale conference in India, the International Conference on the Newest Drift in Mechanical Engineering (ICNDME-2014), Verma was the chief guest delivering the keynote address. This presentation centered on the concept of Lean Sigma.
Before leaving India, Verma visited the World College of Technology and Management (WCTM), a private college offering bachelors and masters degrees in engineering and business management.
