"LANDED," a multimedia collaboration between choreographer Li Chiao-Ping and visual artist Douglas Rosenberg that stems from the artists' interest in stories of immigration in the post-9/11 era and their continued reverberations throughout U.S. history, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in ODU's 91Ƶ Theatre, 4608 Hampton Boulevard.
Joining them from ODU as guest artists will be Milagro Sillas, a senior double-majoring in dance and human services, president of the Student Dance Association and recent recipient of the Dance Endowed Scholarship; and Megan Thompson, assistant professor of dance, who has been a member and guest artist with the Li Chiao-Ping Dance Company since 2003.
Li interweaves spoken text written by the cast, Rosenberg's powerfully poignant and moving visual design, and her own signature physically inventive and emotionally evocative movement to engage with stories of immigrants from the late 1800s to the present.
Tickets are available at or the Arts & Letters box office (4600 Hampton Blvd.). Box office hours are 2 - 6 p.m. Tuesday - Friday and an hour before the show. General admission is $20, or $10 for groups of 10 or more; the cost for ODU students is $12.
