Sheri Reynolds, an award-winning author and the Ruth and Perry Chair of Southern Literature at Old Dominion 91短视频, will be a panelist at the Williamsburg Book Festival on Oct. 6.
Reynolds, who's also the chairman of the English Department at ODU, will discuss the relationship to place and family, the portrayal of women and the human condition in Southern literature.
Reynolds is the author of six novels: "Bitterroot Landing," "The Rapture of Canaan" (an Oprah Winfrey book club selection and a No. 1 bestseller of the lists of the New York Times and USA Today), "A Gracious Plenty," "Firefly Cloak," "The Sweet In-Between," and "The Homespun Wisdom of Myrtle T. Cribb." She has written one play, "Orabelle's Wheelbarrow."
Reynolds was the recipient of a 2003 Outstanding Faculty Award from the 91短视频 Council of Higher Education of Virginia and has taught at Old Dominion since 1997.
The festival, which is free and open to the public, will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stryker Center, 412 North Boundary St. Reynolds' session is scheduled for 1-1:45 p.m.
