Do you love to paint? Are you looking for something fun to do that will give back to your community? The Old Dominion Department of Art and Norfolk's NEON District need your help!
The two organizations have spearheaded a large-scale mural project for the Young Terrace neighborhood in Norfolk called "Neighborhood Markers," and are looking for community volunteers to help paint the last of 63, 5-5-foot fabric panels.
The panels will become part of a large grid that will be used to create a 1,500-square-foot mural, which will be on the exterior wall of the CHKD Thrift Store at 795 Monticello Ave. in Norfolk's NEON District. The mural is expected to permanently installed later this summer.
Painting sessions will be held April 22-25 from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Young Terrace Community Center at 804 Whitaker Ln., in Norfolk.
