The Military Connection Center (MCC) is gearing up for a weeklong celebration in honor of Veterans Day, with a range of events planned from November 7th to 15th. Attached to this announcement is the overview of events, starting with a Veterans Day Ceremony with President Hemphill THIS THURSDAY, November 7th.
Additionally, on Tuesday, November 12 the MCC will be hosting a pumpkin smashing event for ODU's students to combat seasonal blues and stress! Student Veterans will be able to participate for FREE, and non-military students can participate after donating an item or writing a message for care packages for our deployed servicemembers. (Donation item list available on ). There will be cake to celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday and various community Veteran Service Organizations will be present to share resources for ODU鈥檚 military-affiliated population. All faculty/staff are welcome to stop by for some cake and a good time!
This year we will also be hosting a special Veteran Faculty/Staff Luncheon to honor the contributions of faculty and staff members who are prior military. It will be an all you care to eat luncheon in Broderick Dining Commons on Wednesday, November 13th from 12-2PM. .
