Students review and analyze the concepts and interrelationships underlying cybersecurity compliance methodologies, including the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF); Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP); NIST 800-171; CMMC; NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF); and NIST 800-53. Students develop competencies to utilize NIST RMF Steps 1-3/FedRAMP Steps 1-2.

Information Security Analysts
Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.
Computer and Information Systems Managers
Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.
Computer Systems Analysts
Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems. Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software.

Design and conduct training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. May analyze training needs.
Requirements
All applicants admitted to the certificate program must meet ODU requirements for graduate admission: an earned baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited institution or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution. Those whose native language is not English must submit a minimum score of 230 on the computer-based TOEFL or 80 on the TOEFL iBT. Â
