Florencia Segura, MD was appointed to the Board of Visitors on July 1, 2024, by Governor Glenn Youngkin.

Dr. Segura is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). She has been practicing at Einstein Pediatrics in Northern Virginia since 2018. Dr. Segura completed her pediatric residency at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and previously served as a primary care pediatrician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where she taught medical students from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Pennsylvania and CHOP pediatric residents during their primary care pediatrics rotations.

Dr. Segura is recognized as a "Top Doctor" in Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine and was awarded Primary Care Pediatrician of the Year by the Inova Children’s Hospital pediatric residents in 2024. She takes a special interest in new parents, newborn care, childhood nutrition, eczema management, and adolescent health.

Dr. Segura is deeply committed to medical education. She mentors and teaches new pediatricians undergoing training at INOVA Children's Hospital as a continuity clinic preceptor and primary care lecturer. She also contributes expert, evidence-based pediatric advice to national media outlets including Parents Magazine, Healthline, The New York Times, and VeryWell Family while also serving as a member of the What to Expect medical review board.

Dr. Segura also serves as an ambassador for the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) Foundation, lecturing nationally and advocating for increased research funding and is a member of the AAP Section on Child Death Review and Prevention.

Outside of her clinical and advocacy work, Dr. Segura enjoys spending time with her husband, a local dermatologist, raising their three living energetic young children.
